Dlibr

Online deliberation platform

Dlibr is a digital environment that allows one to examine the different aspects of a proposal while promoting respectful attitudes as well as efficient and democratic practices.

The user-friendly interface offers to structure the discussion around an initial proposition and three relationship markers: because, on the other hand and therefore.

Dlibr generates a dynamic of participation that encourages learners to write several arguments and read those of others in order to build a reasoned and lively discussion.

The platform offers different visualizations of deliberation and several modes of teacher-student interaction, and it can be used for both a formative exercise and a summative exercise.

Appwapp Mandate

  1. Analysis of the existing platform
  2. Design and wireframe
  3. Taking into account the security and privacy constraints of their industry
  4. Data modeling
  5. Development of the platform for admins, teachers and students

By using Dlibr in the classroom, teachers find tools for feedback, revision and visualization such as: moderation of deliberations and educational evaluation of class publications.

At the end of the deliberation, the graphic tools make it possible to obtain a synthetic view: of the activity and the evolution of the deliberation, of the path of the decisions.

Thus, the class observes and understands the evolution of the issues discussed during the deliberation.

In brief

Our Dlibr platform is not only a digital place to host the exchange of arguments by students but also offers tools that measure the statistics of the deliberation as well as provide professors with tools for the pedagogical evaluation of each publications and each student.

Dlibr Launch

On October 24, 2022, we were at the official launch of Dlibr. It was a pleasure to see again the team of the Collège de Maisonneuve (CCDMD) and the authors Christian Frenette and Olivier Roy.

Good life to Dlibr!
