Memphis – Renasant Convention Center – Connected Objects
Have you heard of the Renasant Convention Center? It is a convention complex located in Memphis, Tennessee. This centre contains several meeting rooms as well as semi-private and private spaces. It also has a large hall that covers approximately 10,960 m². Every year, the complex hosts large-scale events. Among them, the famous Memphis International Auto Show. In 2019, the Renasant Convention Center underwent a major renovation. The budget for this modernization project was $200 million. At Appwapp, we are proud to announce that we have participated. The Design of Physical LED Controllers
The meeting spaces at the Renasant Convention Center are illuminated by natural light. With stunning views of the skyline and the river. However, they are also equipped with a large number of LEDs. This gives them a warm, friendly and classy feel.
These lights are controlled individually, and remotely, using physical controllers. We designed this connected equipment in collaboration with LUMID. Also, we developed the software for the microcontroller. Finally, we developed inter-controller communication via RJ45.
Comprehensive test for UL certification
UL, or Underwriters Laboratories, is a safety certification label. It has been operating internationally for over 100 years. A UL certified product complies with the quality and safety standards applied in Canada and the United States. Also, it is regularly controlled and audited by the brand.
We have performed a full UL pre-certification test on each LED. We evaluated humidity, heat, overload and many other important parameters. We also carried out light intensity tests. Finally, we provided documentation of the physical deployment and testing procedures.
